Women’s Outreach — family-centered events and listening sessions

Cross-lane execution guide for Women’s Outreach leads working with Events and Social. Aligns with county and community-region dashboards.

Principles

  • Design for caregiver logistics — timing, parking, clarity on kids welcome, feeding expectations.
  • Listening is a standalone win; not every room needs a speech.
  • Escalate safety or harassment issues immediately — don’t handle alone.

Family-centered outreach checklist

  • Venue — bathrooms, changing space, stroller access noted on invite.
  • Program — optional kids’ corner only with vetted volunteers and signed-up parents.
  • Length — default shorter than all-adult events unless hosts insist.

Listening session (90 minutes)

  • Opening — purpose, ground rules, consent on note-taking.
  • Rounds — timed; pass mic or use notecards for shy voices.
  • Close — what we heard + one honest next step (event, resource, follow-up owner).
  • Within one week — thank-you; deliver any promised resources.

Coordination handoffs

  • Events owns run-of-show and permits.
  • Social owns dignified recap — prioritize participant dignity over “content mining.”
  • P5 / VR owns registration offer at exit if culturally appropriate.

What good looks like

Participants say they’d bring a friend next time — the practical test.
