Social lane — advanced local media, press graphics, distribution

Use after you have completed Social · amplifier playbook basics.

Advanced Canva patterns

  • Master file per county: duplicate slides instead of rebuilding from scratch weekly.
  • Safe zones — export both 1:1 and 9:16 from the same design where possible.
  • Quote cards — max 20 words on image; full quote in caption with attribution rules from HQ.
  • Press-safe crops — avoid busy backgrounds behind Kelly cutouts; leave lower-third space when asked.

Local media outreach (earned)

  • Maintain 10-row sheet: outlet, beat reporter (if known), email, last pitch date, outcome.
  • Pitch community stories (service, civics, turnout help) — not opponent dumps unless comms directs.
  • 72-hour rule: if a reporter asks a legal or policy question you don’t know, say so and route to HQ.

Press graphics packet (when comms requests)

  • Headshot from approved library only.
  • Logo lockup placement per brand guide.
  • Readable at thumbnail — test on phone before send.

What good looks like

  • Locals see their town in the feed, not generic national churn.
  • You can produce a clean event graphic in under 30 minutes when date/time are firm.
  • /volunteer/resources/social-media-design — templates and headshots.
  • /field-playbook/roles/social-amplifier-playbook — weekly rhythm.
