Learning & Development leadership

Multi-state dental organization based in Little Rock

Leads learning strategy and the practical systems and tools required to implement it across many locations. Current full-time work in organizational development, training, and execution across a multi-state operation.

Operations leadership

Alltel and Verizon — nearly 25 years

Worked across multiple states in large, complex operations. Led teams, supported multi-site operations, managed multimillion-dollar budgets and projects, worked with enterprise systems and major vendors, and turned strategy into results. Responsibilities included an operation of roughly 800 employees on a large corporate campus, including a customer-service operation with a $43 million annual call-center budget.

Small business and farm

Rose Bud, Arkansas — with Steve Grappe

Owned a small business and operated a farm in rural Arkansas. Managed expenses, navigated requirements, and kept an operation going when margins were tight. Farm operations were later paused — a first-hand view of how hard it can be for small-business owners and farmers trying to make a living.

Civic organizing

Grassroots / direct-democracy work in Arkansas

Extensive grassroots and direct-democracy organizing: helping ordinary Arkansans understand how to participate, how petitions move, and how to navigate a process that too often requires lawyers and professional infrastructure.

Why this maps to the Secretary of State’s office

The Secretary of State’s office is a large statewide service organization. It is responsible for election administration and support, business and commercial services, public records, the initiative and referendum process, and stewardship of the State Capitol.

The work that matters here is leading people, managing complex systems, understanding the people who depend on them, and making those systems work better.
