County Clerk visit checklist (county seat)

Purpose: Professional relationship with the county clerk / elections office — accurate info, gratitude for workload, no pressure that could embarrass Kelly or clerks.

Pipeline (same as Youth tab mirror)

  • Identified — county seat and correct office for the question (registration vs. business filings).
  • Contacted — email or call with specific, humble request.
  • Requested — meeting or drop-in window; materials sent ahead if helpful.
  • Scheduled — on calendar with travel buffer.
  • Completed — on time, short, note-taking for HQ if needed.
  • Follow-up — thank-you; any promised info sent when you said you would.

Before you go

  • Read current public guidance from SOS / county site — do not wing statutory questions.
  • Bring one-page leave-behind only if HQ approved.
  • If student volunteers join, confirm dress and tone with Youth lead.

During

  • Introduce who you are and why you care about accurate elections — avoid partisan venting.
  • Ask process questions, not gotchas.
  • Respect lines and busy counters — wait your turn.

What good looks like

Clerks remember you as curious and courteous, not extractive.

Where this lives in-product

  • Team Events tab — County Clerk block (mirrors Youth when data exists).
  • Youth resource hub also references county clerk for campus context — same discipline.
