Power of 5 / VR — registration events and polling-place readiness
Execution layer for the P5 / VR coordinator when Events runs registration-forward touches.
Registration event operations (2-hour table model)
Before
- Confirm forms / links with HQ; print QR to
/volunteerand official SOS pages as directed. - Train volunteers on what we do not do (no legal advice; escalate).
- Weather and lighting plan for outdoor tables.
During
- Two-person minimum at busy tables — one greeter, one navigator.
- Track honest counts: conversations started, cards handed, assists logged.
- Capture follow-up owners for anyone who needs a call later (no SSN or full DOB on clipboards).
After (48h)
- Thank partners and venue hosts.
- Enter outcomes into rollup; compare to goal.
- Schedule next touch before energy fades.
Community outreach socials (non-table)
- Pair Social coverage with one relational ask: “Who should sit with us next time?”
- Debrief three standout conversations with Events — feed house party pipeline.
Polling-place readiness (high level)
- Know who owns poll worker recruitment vs. voter info — don’t blur lanes.
- Build FAQ from official sources only; date-sensitive pages checked weekly during deadlines.
- Monitor long lines reports; route to leadership, don’t improvise legal guidance.
What good looks like
- VR events produce named follow-ups, not just paper slips.
- Coordinators can teach a new volunteer to run the table in one shadow shift.
